]]>Secrets and mysteries of an underground tunnel linking Jordan with Syria, the longest in the world, and penetrating dozens of villages and towns
The Dael Umm Qais Tunnel, nicknamed the Decablos Tunnel, is a historical masterpiece built in the Roman era, and it is the longest tunnel in the world.
According to experts, it is considered the longest water tunnel in the world, an underground water miracle to connect the cities of the Decablos with water to each other, and the tunnel extends 170 km between Jordan and Syria and is 9 times longer than the second longest tunnel in the world located in Italy and is considered an underground water empire.
According to experts, the tunnel is described as a “heritage marvel” that indicates the ancient civilizations that inhabited the Hauran region, as the tunnel connects a group of villages in a unique water system fed by a group of abundant springs in the region.
Many secrets and mysteries have recently been revealed about the water tunnel, which is divided into two locations:
The first site, which is the main tunnel from the town of Dael in the western countryside of Daraa, passing through Daraa, Al-Tura, Kafr Soum, Samar, Badr and its valleys to Umm Qais
The second branch, which is the branches, which start from al-Mughayyir at Ain al-Muallaqa, and also branched with eyes and valleys.
How was it created?
The Romans began constructing the tunnel, according to experts, in the second century AD, during the era of Emperor Hardian in the year 130 AD, and work continued on it for more than eighty non-continuous years.
The water tunnel is supplied with more than ten powerful springs so far, and it also branches out from the town of Kharga with several branches in the middle of Kharga, Wadi Al-Nuss and Al-Arqoub towards Al-Khraibeh to the main spring, and then deviates to Ain Quilbeh and heads to Yabla
There are also places to put lighting and lamps every two meters on the sides of the tunnel, and every one kilometer the angle of inclination is determined in order to withdraw water, and also there are writings in the Romanian and Arabic languages found on the wall of the tunnel, and also in some areas there are stairs in order to withdraw water

]]>The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) on Wednesday celebrated the July 7, 2007 vote, when the City of Petra became one of the New Seven Wonders.
During the celebration, the Monastery was illuminated for the first time, while the Treasury and Main Trail will be illuminated on Thursday.
Suleiman Farajat, chief commissioner of the PDTRA, stated that recognizing Petra as one of the Seven New Wonders is a global promotion of the city, noting that the number of visitors to the rose-red city has increased significantly in 2022.
He added: “The Authority has undertaken a series of investment projects in the region over the past few years in an effort to increase Petra’s competitiveness as a global tourist destination, and is currently working to improve its infrastructure and offer incentives to investors.”
Among the improvements, he said, the horse-drawn wagons were replaced with eco-friendly electric cars after a back-road transport route was established.
The New 7 Wonders of the World was a campaign started in 2000 to choose Wonders of the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments.

]]>The post Facebook just revealed its new name: Meta first appeared on Love of Jordan.
]]>Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday at the company’s Connect event that the company’s new name will be Meta. “We are a company that builds technology to connect,” Zuckerberg said. “Together, we can finally put people at the center of our technology. And together, we can unlock a massively bigger creator economy.”
“To reflect who we are and what we hope to build,” he added. He said the name Facebook doesn’t fully encompass everything the company does now, and is still closely linked to one product. “But over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.”
Zuckerberg owns the Twitter handle @meta (whose tweets are protected as of this writing) and meta.com, which now redirects to a welcome page on Facebook that outlines the changes
As The Verge first reported on October 19th, the rebrand is part of the company’s efforts to shift gears away from being known as just a social media company to focus on Zuckerberg’s plans for building the metaverse. In July, he told The Verge that over the next several years, Facebook would “effectively transition from people seeing us as primarily being a social media company to being a metaverse company.”
Zuckerberg wrote in a blog post Thursday that the company’s corporate structure would not be changing, but how it reports financial results will. “Starting with our results for the fourth quarter of 2021, we plan to report on two operating segments: Family of Apps and Reality Labs” he explained. “We also intend to start trading under the new stock ticker we have reserved, MVRS, on December 1. Today’s announcement does not affect how we use or share data.”
What is the metaverse, and do I have to care?
Facebook has been under intense scrutiny over the past several weeks, after revelations based on damning internal documents provided to the Wall Street Journal by whistleblower Frances Haugen showed, among other things, that Facebook’s Instagram platform had become a toxic place for teenagers, especially girls. And antitrust regulators are pushing for the company to be broken up, as public trust in the social media platform is flagging.
Eight things we learned from the Facebook Papers
On Monday, multiple news outlets published further details of the internal documents disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Commission and provided to Congress in redacted form. They showed the deep concern among Facebook’s researchers that its user base was aging, and the platform was losing traction among younger generations. The documents also showed Facebook had a tiered system to prioritize which countries would receive enhanced protections around elections.
Early speculation focused on a change similar to Google’s 2015 rebrand when it announced it would become one of several companies under the umbrella of a larger holding company called Alphabet. For Facebook, the original “blue” app would join Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus under a parent company.
Facebook is reshuffling its names under a rebranded corporate parent: Meta.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the change Thursday, saying he wanted a new brand and a clearer corporate naming scheme to help focus on what’s next for the internet beyond social media.
The rebrand comes as Facebook faces a deluge of news stories and public scrutiny based on thousands of internal corporate documents obtained by news organizations, including NBC News. The documents, originating with former Facebook product manager and whistleblower Frances Haugen, reveal internal employee dissent over the platform’s policies.
The change won’t affect the name of the company’s signature blue-colored app, which will keep the name Facebook. But it will mean a new identity for the corporate umbrella that also owns Instagram and WhatsApp.
Together with the app Messenger, Meta will own and control four of the most popular smartphone apps in the world.
The name is a nod to the idea of the “metaverse,” a term for a potential future internet that emphasizes virtual spaces. Zuckerberg said the metaverse will be the internet’s “next frontier.”
Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook and its various apps would now fall under a new company name, Meta.
Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook and its various apps would now fall under a new company name, Meta.Facebook
“Facebook is one of the most-used products in the history of the world. It is an iconic social media brand, but increasingly, it just doesn’t encompass everything we do,” he said in an online presentation.
“I want to anchor our work and our identity in what we are building towards,” he said.
Facebook’s focus on the idea of a metaverse has a lot of precedent in other tech companies, from the virtual world Second Life founded in 2003 to the online gaming platform Roblox. It’s also been the subject of numerous science fiction novels and films such as “Ready Player One.”
Zuckerberg, who has a longtime interest in studying classical Greece and Rome, noted that “meta” is Greek for “beyond.”
The company’s stock ticker will also change from FB to MVRS as of Dec. 1, CNBC reported.
The creation of Meta is reminiscent of Google’s decision in 2015 to restructure under a new corporate parent named Alphabet. That change separated Google’s search engine and advertising businesses from other, unproven projects, such as the development of autonomous vehicles.

]]>The post The Big Differences Between Windows 10 and 11 first appeared on Love of Jordan.
]]>Microsoft has just released its brand-new Windows operating system, Windows 11. And while we’re very excited to get our hands on everything new, but before we do, we should clear up what exactly is new. Today we’ll be going over the key differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11, how users can upgrade, and information about some new features
Windows 11 is the newest iteration of Microsoft Windows operating system, and the direct successor to Windows 10, which was released back in 2015. Windows 11 will offer a slew of brand-new features, and launches worldwide on October 5, 2021.
What are the Big Changes in Windows 11?
While not all of them are major, there are quite a few changes that have been made between Windows 10 and Windows 11. These may feel relatively minor, but these small changes add up to something revolutionary. Here are the most noteworthy changes.
New Design
The windows design team has been hard at work, and it shows in Windows 11. The operating system now features a new design that is sleeker than ever before. You’ll notice the Windows start menu now fills the entire screen. The Windows logo has also undergone some changes, making it more readable and identifiable.
Android App Integration
One exciting change made with the new operating system is the ability to now integrate your Android smartphone directly with Windows. Your notifications will pop up on your Windows desktop, and you can open any app on both devices with ease! We’ll get more into this further down.
Virtual Desktop Mode Improved
If you don’t like the old virtual desktop mode–you’re in luck because it’s been improved in Windows 11. Now you can make Windows overlap each other, which is much more intuitive than Windows 10’s old setup. You can also set how transparent windows are when they overlap one another–meaning the Windows that are on top will be solid, while Windows underneath it can be made see-through.
Widgets
Widgets are always a fan favorite, and windows has introduced a few new ones in Windows 11. You can find these widgets on the Windows tray. Now you’ll have easy access to information such as your calendar, current weather, and even a list of common tasks.
Improved Touchscreen Support
Now that Windows is transitioning from monitor to laptop more frequently than ever before, one necessary change was updating touchscreen support for the OS. Windows 10 didn’t always have the most intuitive touchscreen controls, but all of that seems to be remedied in Windows 11 with more important touchscreen support, and an overall more refined user experience for those using tablets or laptops with touchscreen support.
Improved Gaming
If you are looking for an operating system with better enhancements for gamers, Windows 11 might just be what you’re looking for. Microsoft has included some new Windows store games in Windows 11 that are optimized for Windows 11, which means less crashes and a smoother performance. Users even have the ability to capture game clips now, to share online with friends.
Smoother Transition From Monitor to Laptop
Windows 11 has also introduced several changes that will make transitioning from monitor to laptop much smoother than ever before. For example, Windows will now remember how your apps were positioned when you unplug from a monitor, making the transition from laptop to desktop and back again as seamless as possible.
Android Apps on Windows
While not available at launch, Android Apps, including favorites such as TikTok and Snapchat will soon be running on your Windows 11 machine without having to install third party apps. Just download them straight from the Windows store!
One change that users will be able to spot right off the bat is the brand-new logo — now looking sleeker and more beautiful than ever, we’re quite big fans of the new look for Microsoft Windows’ newest OS logo. It’s also launching with a totally new startup sound as well.
User Interface
The Windows user interface has been redesigned entirely. Many Windows users still find Windows 8 and Windows 10 difficult to use since it’s completely different from Windows 7, but Windows 11 looks to be improving upon the previous two iterations of the operating system.
New Windows Store
Another big change is the new Windows Store. Microsoft has decided not to replace their old Windows Store with a new one, instead keeping both operating simultaneously. However, they are phasing out support for the old Windows Store over time, so if you’re using an older version of windows then you can expect some trouble finding apps in the future because Microsoft won’t continue its support for the old app store much longer.
What do I Need to Know to Upgrade?
Many Windows 10 users are curious as to how they will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 from the previous version. This is a common question for Windows users, as it has been the same Windows 10 since its release in 2015.
It’s Free for Windows 10 Users
Surprisingly, upgrading to Windows 11 is incredibly easy: like previous versions, Windows 10 users can upgrade to Windows 11 completely free of charge, as long as they have a legitimate copy of Windows 10 already. It’s very easy to upgrade, and can be done by simply going to Microsoft’s official website.
What are Snap Groups and how do they work?
Snap groups have been completely redesigned in Windows 11. In Windows 10, snap groups allowed you to open windows side by side by dragging windows from the top bar onto the screen next to one another. This is still an option in Windows 11, but the ability to snap windows into certain positions has been added as well – allowing Windows users more customization options of where their windows go when snapped together.
It’s always a good idea to make sure your computer can run whatever operating system you decide to download before going through with it! With the newest OS being more demanding than prior versions, Windows users should make sure their Windows 10 computers can run Windows 11 before downloading it.
According to Microsoft, the minimum requirements to run Windows 11 are a 64-bit processor, 4 GB RAM, a 64 GB or larger storage device, and an HD display of 720p or higher. Users can also use the PC Health Check app to further assess your PC’s compatibility, in order to ensure that you’ll be able to update to Windows 11 without any issues.
Windows 11 is shaping up to be a fantastic new update to Microsoft Windows, with plenty of new features and upgrades to the previous operating system. The new OS is sleeker, faster, and more feature-rich than any other version before it, and will surely be a great upgrade for PC users. Be sure to check out all Windows 11 computers at Micro Center!

]]>The post Intel 11700K Processor Review and Comparison first appeared on Love of Jordan.
]]>Intel has just released its latest generation of desktop processors, and we’ve got to spend some time with the 11700K! Intel formally announced the 11th Gen Desktop Processors on March 16th. They shared information about new features added to 11th Gen processors, such as integrated USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 and new UHD graphics featuring the latest Intel Xe architecture. Other welcome additions to the 11th Gen CPUs is the inclusion of 20 CPU PCIe 4.0 lanes, as well as the Intel Advanced Vector Extensions 512, also known as AVX-512. AVX-512 is a set of instructions that can accelerate performance for tasks such as scientific simulations, financial analytics, AI / deep learning, 3D modeling and analysis, image and audio/video processing, and more.
Our Testbench & Methodology
For our testbench, we’re using an open-air system with the following specs.
Intel 11700K / Intel 10700K
ASUS TUF Z590 / ASUS TUF Z490 (Note: We are using the latest beta BIOS for these motherboards)
Neo Forza Faye 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600
ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 TUF Gaming Overclocked
Inland Premium 1TB SSD
Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i v2
Now that we’ve covered the specs of our test bench, let’s talk about our testing methodology. We’ve included several synthetic tests using Aida64 Engineer and Cinebench R23. We’ve also included a few in-game benchmarks. Since this is a test focused on CPU performance, we’re testing these titles at 1080p. Running tests on lower graphical settings puts the workload on the CPU and game’s efficiency, rather than bringing a third possible variable (the GPU) into the mix.
Lastly, we did want to mention that while using 11700K and the Z490 board, the system would not POST when we enabled XMP. We were able to POST when running at speeds of 3200 MHz. This difference in RAM clock speeds and timings does impact the results of our benchmarks. To be clear, we are using the same physical memory, but we were required to reduce the memory’s clock speed for the system to post. Since we are testing the 11700K before its release, this may be corrected with a more stable BIOS or other updates delivered upon or before release, but we wanted to be transparent in sharing our results.
Benchmarks
We’re testing the capabilities of the 11700K on both the Z490 and the Z590 chipsets. Since this is the first benchmark of an Intel CPU that we’ve done, we’re also going to be comparing it against the 10700K. Because the 10700K and the 11700K are compatible with both of these chipsets, we’ve tested each possible combination of these systems. So be prepared for quite a few results! We’ve found some interesting developments in our benchmarks, and we’re excited to share them with you.

11700K Z490 7.67ms
11700K Z590 5.98ms
Note: The consistent 1% low FPS across resolutions is likely caused by an engine bottleneck or generated in the scene transitions during the benchmark.

10700K Z590 7.43ms
11700K Z490 7.27ms
11700K Z590 7.39ms
The first thing that stands out to us in these benchmarks is the similarity between these platforms’ results. Many of the results are relatively similar, but as you can see, there are notable improvements with the 11th Gen CPU. It’s especially impressive to see the improvements in programs that can take advantage of the new platform’s advanced features. Specifically, PCIe 4.0 and AVX-512 are a standout here.
Summary
We’ve learned quite a lot while benchmarking these CPUs, and we’re happy to report that there are many reasons to purchase either of them! As you can see from our benchmark results the additional features of the new 11700K make it an enticing upgrade. The extra performance gained in AVX-512 workloads and the addition of PCIe 4.0 to the Intel Z590 make the 11th Gen a great choice. Intel specifically mentioned that the 11th gen CPUs would be great for “scientific simulations, financial analytics, artificial intelligence (AI)/deep learning, 3D modeling and analysis, image and audio/video processing, cryptography and data compression.” And we’d have to agree!
The addition of PCIe 4.0 is also a great standout for those who are using the 11th Gen CPUs for high data transfer needs, the impressive speeds that we saw with CrystalDiskMark really do show off the outstanding speeds that you can expect when using a Gen 4 NVMe SSD, especially when combined with USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt-compatible devices. The 11th Gen CPUs are an outstanding choice, especially for creatives or data-related tasks.
Another great thing that can be gleaned from our benchmarks is the compatibility across all of the parts that we’ve tested here. Although we did see some difficulty with RAM speeds, we expect this to be correct upon or shortly after release. If PCIe 4.0 is not necessary for you, you can still use the Z490 boards with the 11th Gen CPUs. If you can’t find the right Z490, there’s still the selection of Z590 boards that will work great with your 10th Gen CPU. It’s great to see that Intel decided to keep the same socket, allowing you to have more variety in choices when choosing parts for your next build!
